The Chicago Tribune Installs
InfoRad Serve-IT
InfoRad,
Inc. announces the installation of InfoRad Serve-IT wireless software technology for The Chicago Tribunes newspapers redelivery services and circulation management personnel. InfoRad Serve-IT integrates with the
Chicago Tribunes existing circulation
database, and provides automated routing and delivery information for the Tribunes delivery personnel by utilizing the Internet and wide area wireless messaging networks.
Serve-IT software was designed specifically as a circulation management tool. "Division Managers and other delivery personnel in the field automatically receive redelivery instructions directly on their wireless pager," said Robert Inch, Manager, Field Administration Services at the Chicago Tribune. InfoRads Serve-IT automates the newspaper redelivery function by automatically processing and formatting data from the newspapers complaint system and forwarding it to select personnel in the field. "This helps the Chicago Tribune live up to its high level of customer commitment," added Mr. Inch.
"We develop software with a sharp focus on providing our customers solutions that meet their needs today with continued enhancements into the future," said InfoRad President and CEO Paul Fitzgerald. "Serve-IT allows the Chicago Tribune easy access to todays advanced wireless PCS networks via the
Internet. The application is also a perfect example of a vertically focused SMS solution, which improves customer service and the business process for the Chicago Tribune."
Serve-ITs latest version offers advanced scheduling functionality, enhanced report features, direct real-time Internet messaging capability, and is a 32-bit platform with a version available that can run on Windows NT as a service. It is designed to work with all text messaging and PCS SMS systems in North America. "Serve-IT, now in its third generation, works with all circulation databases and data formats with the support for the future 2-way messaging technology built-in," says Mike Denson, Director of Technical Operations at InfoRad.
